2018 John Newton Team Boat Challenge – Results

The 2018 John Newton Team Boat Challenge was a fantastic day with 65+ paddlers competing in the doubles and K4 races. Congratulations to Currumbin Creek Paddlers Club who retained the ‘Overall Club Points Score’ Trophy and to the Sunshine Coast Paddlesports Club who collected the ‘Handicap Club Points Score’ Trophy.
Thanks to the QC Canoe Marathon Technical Committee for hosting the event, to Chris Hurley, Brenda Hurley, Peter Winton and Brook Crosse, the Currumbin Creek Paddlers Club and all the volunteers for their support across the day with safety boats and BBQ, to our elite paddlers Alyce Burnett, Jaimie Roberts, Cat McArthur and Jordon Wood who supported the event, either paddling, in the safety boat, taking photos or filming, and chatting with our junior paddlers.
A special thanks to John Newton’s family who attended, participated and presented the medals and trophies at the end of the day.
