Course

The course will start and finish at Preston Park, Michel Drive, Currumbin.  The course is tidal and motorised vessels may be encountered.
 
Entries
 
Entries are now open for the 2006 Queensland Canoe Marathon Championships.  Please read the championship book for detailed information.  This year entries can be made on-line using the internet however for the entry to be complete payment must be forwarded to the Queensland Canoeing office.  For those who do not have or wish to use the on-line entries an entry form must be received fully completed. 
 
Please note: Persons making an entry will be invoiced if no payment is received.

Under 12’s
 
Currumbin Creek Canoe Club is committed to the encouragement and development of young paddlers.  For this reason the Under 12Õs race will be held separately and before other races on each day.  All competitors are urged to be on hand to encourage these stars of the future and to keep the race course clear during the Under 12Õs races.
 
Accommodation
 

Booking of accommodation is the responsibility of the individual.

 

Gold Coast has a range of accommodation to suit all budgets but remember that members of Queensland Canoeing are entitled to discounted accommodation at

Best Western hotels and motels.  Do not forget to obtain your Gold Crown Card to receive this benefit.              

 
Non Championship Race
 
All ages (16 and over) any class non-championship event for recreational and novice paddlers.  Distance will be 10km and no portages with singles on day 1 and doubles on day 2.  Ages 16 and older.  No medals awarded for this event.  Time will be recorded.  Primarily for those who would consider that they cannot compete at a level over the distance for their respective age group or are not eligible under the above conditions.  As this is a non championship event competitors will be deemed to have not competed at the state marathon championships for Queensland Team purposes.
 
2007 Queensland Canoe Marathon Team
 
Please Note:  This is not a selection event however those seeking selection in the 2007 Queensland Canoe Marathon Team must compete at these championships.
 
2007 Queensland Canoe Marathon Team members will have access to free transport of kayaks on the organised trailer to the national championships.  Non team members will be required to pay for boat transportation should there be space available.  Other incentives for selected team members is currently being sourced.
