The paddle

 

From the caravan park head upstream and then up the Esk River. You paddle upstream to Evans Head town and the boat ramp which is on the southside of the bridge.  You will need to return to the caravan park to finish your paddle.

 

How to get there

 

Iluka is on the coast north of Grafton. A suitable launch point is available from the caravan park.

 

What to expect Ð water conditions, etc

 

This is a tidal river connected to the Clarence River. The launch point is not far from the mouth of the Clarence River.

 

Distance/Time to allow

 

Depending on the conditions and your available time a paddle between 2 to 4 hours could be accommodated.

 

Camping facilities, accommodation, etc

 

There are a number of caravan parks in the general area as well asnational park camping sites though the closest to start this paddle is:
