Mooloolah River Downstream, Mooloolaba


The paddle


The river downstream and Minyama Canal Development Ð paddle downstream past The Wharf and boat harbour to the river mouth on the right bank, then upstream on the left bank into the canal development Ð many very expensive homes with equally expensive vessels moored alongside can be viewed during this 2-3 hour paddle.


How to get there


Charles Clarke Park in Mooloolaba on River Esplanade. Toilets are available.


What to expect Ð water conditions, etc


The river is tidal and upstream of the Sunshine Motorway bridges the water is generally calm Ð not many landings available and suitable for most crafts. Downstream of the bridges the water can be choppy in certain weather conditions.


Distance/Time to allow


An interesting paddle of 2 to 3 hours can be enjoyed.

There are a range of camping and accommodation choices available in the Sunshine Coast area.
