The paddle

 

This is a safe lake for all types of craft. There are many small tributaries that flow into the lake that are worth paddling up. The lake is many surrounded by open grassland though there are some bush areas. Good 3-4 hour paddles can be had on this lake.

 

How to get there

 

Adjacent to the Noosa Botanical Gardens on the Lake MacDonald Drive approx 4.7kms north of Cooroy. Toilets are available.

 

What to expect Ð water conditions, etc

 

      On this freshwater lake the water can become choppy if the winds pick up strength. Suitable for most crafts.

 

Distance/Time to allow

 

You can tailor your paddles to the time that you have available. You can organise interesting paddles of 2 to 4 hours in duration.

 

Camping facilities, accommodation, etc

 

There are a range of camping and accommodation choices available in the Sunshine Coast area. No camping at the Dam/Lake.
