The paddle

The launch point is the boat ramp at the corner of Yundah Street and Allpass Parade, Shorncliffe. From the launch point head up stream and at the intersection of Nundah and Cabbage Tree Creeks turn right and head up Cabbage Tree Creek. You will pass under a bridge eventually and eventually will need to turn right at a fork if you want to paddle up to the Motorway. You will need to return to the boat ramp to finish your paddle.

Shorncliffe is on the North side of Brisbane. The boat ramp is located in the park at the corner of Yundah Street and Allpass Parade, Shorncliffe.

What to expect Ð water conditions, etc

&nbsp

Cabbage Tree Creek is a tidal creek. The section near the mouth of the Nundah Creek can become choppy at times.

&nbsp

Allow about 2 hours depending on your time and the conditions.

&nbsp

Camping facilities, accommodation, etc

&nbsp

If you are from out of town the various Visitor Information Centres can assist with suitable accommodation. There is no camping provision on the banks of the river.

Other attractions in the area

&nbsp

Non-paddlers can either wait in the area or catch a train at nearby Shorncliffe railway station to explore other suburbs of the city whilst the paddlers are away. Boondall Wetlands is near here and be accessed via Nundah Creek and Nudgee Creek which are other paddles that can be accessed from the launch point.

Sandgate Canoe Club paddle on this creek regularly and if you are local joining the club is a good way to find out about other secret canoe trips and to enjoy the company of like minded paddlers.
